February finishing photos

To end February, a walk to Binscarth Wood alongside the Loch of Wasdale.

Through the wood, clouds of Snowdrops scud

The following evening, the sun cast a golden glow across Houton Bay.

  1. I didn't know there was woodland on Orkney. I will have another look at my ordnances.

ps I may have said this twice, I was having trouble commenting.

  2. In a few sheltered spots there has been planting (e.g. Olav's Wood in South Ronaldsay, Binscarth Wood in Finstown and Happy Valley in Stenness). On Hoy, in Berriedale, there is the most northerly relict natural woodland in the UK. I didn't know there were any problems with commenting, thank you for letting me know.
